The post holder will be expected to:
- Assist with the coordination and facilitation of the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) service at LHCH in line with local and national guidelines.
- Work to develop the TAVI service covering the whole patient journey.- Work under the direction of the Lead Heart Valve Nurse as a member of the TAVI team in collaboration with junior medical staff and the nursing teams.
o Assist in the development of clinical services within the TAVI service.
o To ensure smooth planning, implementation and running of the percutaneous valve service.
o To ensure the smooth planning, implementation and running of research studies associated with the service.
o To lead / present the MDT meetings for the percutaneous valve service ensuring all patient information is readily available.
o Maintain databases and research documentation as required.
o Undertake administrative tasks as required including patient follow -up.
o Ensure correct preparation and handling of samples according to local policy and national.
guidelines.
o Assess, plan, implement and evaluate programs of evidence-based TAVI nursing care.
o Work autonomously to provide safe and effective care within the individuals level of competence.
o Provide expert advice and clinical practice in relation to the specialty.
o Liaise with valve manufacturers about all aspects of the service.
o Maintain appropriate channels and styles of communication to meet the needs of patients, relatives, carers, managers, peers and other professional agencies.
o Establish networks with other specialists at a local, national, and international level to
exchange and enhance knowledge and expertise.
