The skin cancer team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated band 8a Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to work with the team for a 12 month period to cover maternity leave. The service is based at the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Liverpool although some clinical commitments will be between our other site in the Wirral.
The successful applicant must be motivated and enthusiastic about the specialist care needs of this patient group. They should be able to demonstrate advanced communication skills, organisational and multi-tasking skills and have the ability to prioritise effectively and efficiently in a busy and fast paced working environment. The successful applicant must demonstrate an ability to support, teach, develop and educate others and possess good leadership skills. They should be able to work autonomously and as part of a strong multidisciplinary team in order to maintain and deliver a high quality of care
They will practice the 4 pillars of Advanced Practice: • Advanced Clinical Practice • Facilitation of Education and Learning • Leadership • Evidence, Research and Development They will:- Practice autonomously with a high level of accountability at an advanced clinical level in the direct delivery of high quality care, making critical clinical decisions based on advanced clinical skills assessment, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice. They will order investigations and prescribe medications within the capacity of non-medical prescribing. Plan and manage complete episodes of care, working in partnership with others and delegating and referring as appropriate to optimise health outcomes and resource use, as well as providing direct support to patients and clients Advocate and contribute to the development of an organisational culture that supports continuous learning and development, evidence-based practice and succession planning. To provide clear leadership and direction to support both the medical and nursing teams acting as a role model for the Trust, presenting a positive image to patients and staff. As a clinical leader they have the freedom and authority to act and accept the responsibility and accountability for those actions. Critically engage in research activity, adhering to good research practice guidance, so that evidence based strategies are developed and applied to enhance quality, safety, productivity and value for money
