An exciting opportunity has arisen in Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital Theatres. We are currently recruiting Senior Theatre Practitioners in both Scrub and Anaesthetics. We are looking for candidates who are able to plan and implement high standards of peri operative care following trust guidelines and protocols. Whilst also promoting a high standard of patient focused approach to care.

Main duties of the job

You will be joining a busy theatre department working with multiple members of the MDT to deliver high standards of patient centred care. Individuals must to able to work as a competent clinical practitioner within their designated area. The individual will also be responsible for ensuring the delivery of clinical activities during their span of duty and to ensure that there efficient and effect utilization of resources to deliver optimum quality care to our patient group.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will support the Theatre Management Team Leaders in the safe and effective delivery of anaesthetic/scrub practice for patients in the Cardiac/Thoracic theatres.

The primary focus of the post is to ensure that all patients and families receive high quality patient centred care, reflecting the Trust objectives, values and vision.

At all times the practitioner will provide effective clinical leadership for their designated area of responsibility, ensuring that high standards of clinical practice are always adhered to.

The practitioner will have extensive knowledge of theatre practice and be actively involved in the teaching and assessing of junior staff in line with the current National and local standards and best practice.

All senior theatre practitioners will lead on one of the key elements of the theatre vision in their respective teams; patient safety; staff well-being; quality and assurance; productivity and performance.

The practitioner will on occasion be expected to deputise for other senior members of the theatre team.

The practitioner will be responsible for their own professional conduct in line with NMC/HPC Code of Conduct. They will adhere to and understand all Trust and local policies and procedures.
