This is a challenging role requiring you to extract clinical information from patient’s case notes, translating medical terminology into nationally recognised, diagnostic and procedural codes, using national classifications in an accurate and timely manner.
The post provides great scope for personal and professional development and the opportunity to obtain a nationally recognised qualification in Clinical Coding.

The classifications used are:
1) International Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems Tenth Revision (ICD-10)
2) Office of Population Census and Surveys Version 4 (OPCS4)
This work is vital in monitoring our clinical effectiveness and ensuring the hospital receives payment for health care it delivers in-line with the national reimbursement mechanism of Payment by Results (PbR).
We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic, efficient individual, with good interpersonal skills, someone who is willing to learn, capable to work on her/his own initiative whilst being a team member and who is always ready for a challenge.
