Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the MCCN Haemato-Oncology laboratory (HODS), within Liverpool University Hospital’s NHS Foundation Trust.

The Merseyside and Cheshire HODS service is a peer review compliant haemato-oncology diagnostic lab, providing state-of-the-art specialist testing for haematological malignancy. The service hosts Flow cytometry, bone marrow aspirate/peripheral blood morphology, histology and immunohistochemistry, and molecular genetic testing.

We are looking for a motivated HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist, with extensive experience in leukaemia immunophenotyping/flow cytometry and excellent interpersonal skills, to join our group. The successful candidate will have the ability to critically analyse and interpret immunophenotyping data.

The laboratory is UKAS-accredited, currently performing over 18,000 diagnostic tests per annum across all testing modalities and is also actively involved in research and teaching.

The candidate will work alongside the lead Clinical Scientist in the section and will also work within a close and friendly team of other HCPC registered scientists.
