An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed Occupational Therapist to join our friendly and supportive team at Harrogate District Hospital.
We are looking for newly qualified or experienced Occupational Therapists to join our band 5 rotation. The services offers lots of opportunities to become involved in project work and new initiatives.
The rotation covers the following areas:
- Stroke
- Trauma and Orthopaedics
- Acute- with the opportunity to work within critical care, surgery, cardiology and respiratory services.
- Acute Frailty with the opportunity to work within admission avoidance, virtual wards, community rehabilitation and acute services.
Regular peer support, preceptorship programmes, supervision and CPD are offered, along with opportunities for external training.
Main duties of the job
- 1. To work as part of the Occupational Therapy and Multidisciplinary Team working with patients, carers relatives and colleagues to plan, develop and implement appropriate rehabilitation and discharge plans. 2. To work as part of the Occupational Therapy and Multidisciplinary Team in providing and contributing to the development of the service to patients. 3. To be responsible for an agreed caseload under the supervision of senior Occupational Therapy staff or team leader. 4. To undertake Occupational Therapy assessments for a designated caseload, addressing occupational performance and functional deficits. 5. To work with clients, relatives and carers to identify OT goals as part of an overall care plan. 6. To plan and implement individual and/or group interventions in collaboration with the client. 7. To advise on and prescribe specialist assistive equipment and adaptations for the home and work place. 8. To work with clients, carers, relatives and colleagues to plan and implement appropriate rehabilitation and discharge plans.
