Job overview

This is a development role for an individual who is looking to develop their practice with a view to ultimately becoming an independently practising Advanced Clinical Practitioner. This is not a formal training post but is a development role to support an individual to develop their professional and personal skills, within a plastic surgery clinical setting, which would be beneficial when subsequently applying for formal ACP training. The aim is to develop towards independent working at the pre, peri and post operative stage of the patient journey and gaining experience in the management, including surgical management, of minor trauma.

Main duties of the job

During this role, you will work to develop your level of knowledge and proficiency within the assessment and management of paediatric minor plastic surgery trauma. This will involve working in a clinic and a theatre environment.

You will demonstrate advanced communication skills, recognise the different roles and contributions of clinical staff and be able to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary care team.

You will show a strong patient and family focus in your practice and apply principles of patient-centred care and shared decision making with children, young people and families.
