Main duties of the job

Are you looking for something a little more challenging? Are you enthusiastic, highly motivated and have a flexible approach to work? Do you have an eye for detail, good communication skills and desire to work within a friendly team? If you answered “YES” to these questions, how would you like to become a pharmacy assistant and join our large, friendly pharmacy team at Morriston? The role we have on offer is a rotational position and will involve working within the  pharmacy stores, procurement & distribution and Dispensary.

Providing a pharmacy ward top-up service to allocated ward(s) and receiving stock from suppliers within the pharmacy store.

You will assist  in the delivery and collection of pharmacy items to and from wards and departments.

Within the Dispensary you will dispense prescriptions for inpatients and outpatients, as well as greeting patients and staff at our reception. The reception area is a busy, dynamic environment where you will be able to use all your communication skills to their full potential.  Previous Pharmacy experience is desirable but not necessary as training will be given in all aspects of the job, including use of the computer system. You will also be expected to attain the NVQ Level 2 within 12 months of taking up the post. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills combined with good time management and organisational skills.
