The role is for an Operating Department Practitioner within Main Theatres. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our friendly and professional team.
The department manages elective, 24/7 acute and trauma cases for adults and paediatrics. The function of the department is to provide a high quality patient focused service for patients under regional blocks, general and local anaesthesia. The specialities cover General Surgery, Gynaecology, Urology, all Trauma and Elective Orthopaedics.
Please note, the Trust currently does not have the capacity to support overseas anaesthetic technicians so we will unfortunately be unable to accept any applications that would require this support.
The post holder will be responsible for the daily management and delivery of safe, individual patient care, within a professional multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will be flexible, multi skilled and continue to gain further knowledge and skills in order to practice competently in elective and acute surgery. They will provide ongoing education, appropriate training opportunities and mentorship duties.
The post holder will work with the team to facilitate new developments and positive change in the clinical environment, based on current evidence and research. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, professional and works well individually and within a team.
1. Work effectively and efficiently as a qualified member of Main Theatres team. To provide safe, high quality holistic care for patients throughout their journey. To have knowledge of processes and equipment in the specific area of work and specialised information on procedures in the specific areas.
2. Provide services to ensure that the needs of patients and their families are met.
3. Assess, plan and implement care for each individual patient within your area of work, adhering to HDFT local and national policies and guidelines.
