Come and join our Cheshire and Merseyside Rehabilitation Network as a Rehabilitation Secretary at Liverpool Broadgreen Hospital. The Cheshire and Merseyside Rehabilitation Network is a collaborative designed to enhance rehabilitation services across the region. Its goal is to improve patient outcomes through a coordinated approach to rehabilitation, bringing together various healthcare professionals, facilities, and resources.
In this role, the post holder will provide a comprehensive secretarial service to the Rehabilitation Consultant and Clinical Team, supporting the work of rehabilitation in improving patient outcomes. You will be fundamental to the smooth functioning of our rehabilitation services, ensuring that our team can focus on delivering high-quality care to patients under the Rehab service.
Working independently and efficiently to manage the administrative needs of the rehabilitation team.
Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records.
Utilising your initiative to streamline processes and improve communication within the clinical Rehab team, enhancing the overall patient experience.
Upholding a high level of responsibility regarding patient information, ensuring that confidentiality is maintained at all times.
To ensure comprehensive secretarial service, maintaining quality standards and confidentiality
Use Trust digital dictation system, transcribe letters, discharge letters, medical reports, references and general correspondence adhering to confidentiality standards at all times
Book patient follow up appointments as require
Schedule and book patient admissions and re-arrange cancellations liaising with bed managers as required
In the event of a patient/hospital cancelling an admission date, contact and liaise with the patient directly by phone to organise a further date
On a weekly basis admission/operation lists are sent manually and electronically to the necessary departments within a reasonable time limit
Provide information/advice regarding the booking of admissions and appointments. The partial booking system of patients should be adhered to provide choice for patients
Dealing with patient related queries/problems by telephone or face to face
Ensure Waiting lists, RTT PTL, Suspended outpatient lists are validated and kept accurate and up to date
Organisation of the consultant's diary
Deal with patient related requirements such as prescribed prescriptions and aids
Secretaries are responsible for ensuring referrals are dealt with by Consultant promptly and once prioritised passed to Patient Access Centre. Secretaries are required to contact the patient for short notice appointments
Deal with any post received in the department
