Job overview

Do you want to become part of a team who make a difference on a daily basis, providing high quality patient centred care?

If you are a caring and compassionate individual looking for a rewarding career in healthcare, join us as at Gloucestershire Hospitals as a Healthcare Support Worker, where we truly value our staff. We offer stability, career satisfaction, and opportunities for development in a supportive and nurturing environment.

At our Trust, we are committed to your continuous growth, providing training in a wide range of clinical skills and knowledge. We are looking for dedicated HCSW’s for various full and part-time positions across multiple inpatient wards in Medicine, Surgery, Diagnostics, and Specialties at both Cheltenham General and Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. You will become a valued colleague at GHT with your development needs being supported by a robust induction.

These substantive roles are ideal for those looking for a stable position rather than Bank work. If you are passionate about providing high-quality care and have not applied within the last six months, we encourage you to apply and become a valued member of our team.

The proposed interview date is Saturday 25th January.

Main duties of the job

While it is desirable that candidates have an appropriate recent care experience and have completed the Care Certificate, previous care experience is not essential, and training can absolutely be provided for the right candidates, so if you have the qualities we're looking for and share our values, please do still get in touch!

If you are looking for a career change or have some questions about a move into the care sector, we encourage you to watch our New to Care HCA Webinar on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVOzYA94hIQ

You will play an essential role in supporting the delivery of the highest standard of quality care to our patients, working alongside registered nurses and other healthcare professionals. Your role will include a wide range of tasks, from providing personal care to undertaking clinical observations. You will be required to follow rigorous policies such as infection control and manual handling policies. In addition, you will be providing emotional and practical support to patient and their families.
