Job overview

We are looking for a General Surgery Booking Clerk on a permanent contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience within our CAU Booking team. Booking outpatient appointments, managing waiting lists and helping with patient queries as part of a busy department based in a large Acute Hospital Trust.

The General Surgery service hours are 8.00am - 6.00pm Monday - Friday, therefore your working pattern will be between these hours.

You will be working closely with other team members,  medical secretaries, clinicians and management team to ensure patients are managed  appropriately.

The role is available with one 8 month fixed term position Tunbridge Wells Hospital

Main duties of the job

You will need to have excellent customer care skills, extensive training  will be provided to gain a thorough understanding of the trusts access policy  and the 18 week RTT pathway guideline.

Previous healthcare administration would be an advantage  but not essential for the advertised role as training will be given.  Knowledge of using Microsoft Word and Excel would be preferable . Our General Surgery team will offer you a supportive, friendly working environment where you will gain experience of an NHS administration format.
