We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse who has a keen interest in developing their skills in Oncology and Haematology to join cancer services at Torbay Hospital.
Preferably the successful applicant will have a recognised SACT administration training qualification. If you are not trained in SACT, but are willing to undergo training, you may still apply.
You will be expected to provide a high standard of care for cancer patients, this will include delivering the safe administration of anticancer and supportive treatments, whilst working flexibly across Turner Ward our specialist inpatient ward and the Ricky Grant Day Unit our purpose built 15-chair Chemotherapy Day Unit. This may involve a range of shift patterns which will include days, evenings, weekends, and rotation to night duty.
You will be required to inform and educate patients on the prescribed treatment and its side effects and support patients and their carers on all aspects of their care, be they newly diagnosed or being treated with palliative intent.
Once trained this role would include co-ordinating and supervising a shift, communicating effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, evidence-led care to patients.
