VOLUNTEER - Royal Berkshire Charity (unpaid)

Job overview

If you live in the Berkshire area, are aged 18 or over, and would like to give your time to support a local charity, we’d love to hear from you.

Why do we need your help?

Volunteering with the Royal Berks Charity demonstrates your commitment to protecting your local hospital, NHS patient care and experience, and staff wellbeing. The Royal Berks Charity raises money to support NHS patients, staff, and volunteers in ways above and beyond what NHS funding can ordinarily provide. The Royal Berks Charity needs help both to raise awareness of the cause and to raise funds. Our Corporate/Community Ambassadors play a vital role in representing the Charity at local events and functions, speaking about our work and the importance of the funds our supporters raise.

Please read the role requirement document carefully and detail the volunteer role you are interested in applying for in the personal statement box.

Main duties of the job

How will I be trained and supported?

  • ·        You will receive a full induction to the Royal Berkshire Charity and to your role
  • ·        You will have a member of staff as a named contact who will support you and answer any queries you have
  • ·        You will be given any equipment and information necessary to carry out your role
  • ·        Reimbursement for any expenses incurred (with prior agreement)

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

What can I gain from volunteering with you?

  • ·        The satisfaction of knowing that you are making a valuable contribution to your local NHS charity
  • ·        Be a part of a friendly team that makes a difference in the community
  • ·        Utilising your existing skills as well as developing and learning new ones
