We are a teaching health board with close links to Cardiff University. The University boasts a high-profile teaching, research and development role within the UK and abroad. Together we are training the next generation of medical professionals. Whilst the posts on offer are not recognised for training, we do offer candidates excellent equal educational opportunities to Deanery trainees, including study leave and rotas.
Indicative duties for the role will include:
● Approximately 1.5 clinics per week including those in persistent pain and rheumatology, plus administrative support
● Assessing and supporting inpatient referrals and other ward work
● Service development / quality improvement
● support for an integrated network of care
● Interdisciplinary team working
● Teaching and support for community of practice
There are currently no plans or funds for out of hours commitments. This can be discussed on an individual basis and addressed where suitable funding is available.
All Junior Doctor posts in the UHB are compliant with the New Deal and the European Working Time Directive. You will be advised of the working pattern for this post prior to taking up your appointment.
University Hospital Llandough and University Hospital of Wales operate a ‘Hospital at Night’ rota and you will be advised of your requirement to participate in this rota prior to your commencement in the post.
The successful applicant will be expected to partake in the teaching commitments of the Child Health Department, including teaching of undergraduates, nursing staff and postgraduate trainees.
A full job description is attached for the role.
