An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time ward clerk position in Cardiac Surgery based at the Leeds General Infirmary.

The post-holder will be required to work 37.5 hours each week.

The successful applicants will be required to deal with a variety of duties including answering the telephone, data inputting, checking and ordering ward stock, general clerical duties and organising patient transport.

Applicants should possess good communication and organisational skills and be willing to work within a multi-disciplinary team. Previous clerical experience preferably within the NHS is desirable.

Main duties of the job

To undertake administrative duties at ward level including the accurate and timely recording of patient activity data on Trust systems. To undertake clerical and related duties on the ward and enable Sister/Charge Nurse and other ward staff to concentrate more freely on direct patient care. This will involve considerable liaison with other departments and wards on behalf of the ward staff.

The jobholder will contribute to the maintenance of an environment for effective care.
