Please use the attached application form to apply for the Volunteer post. SHSC welcomes volunteers and are currently looking for a range of different volunteers with different skills and interests to support SHSC, and its service users and staff. SHSC volunteers help to improve the experiences of patients and visitors. Our volunteers tell us how rewarding they find their volunteering experience, as it gives them the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and give something back to the community. We offer a variety of volunteer roles. All are non-clinical and enhance the patient experience as well as supporting the work of SHSC paid staff. Volunteering with us Our volunteers reflect the diversity of the Sheffield region, being from many different walks of life. What they all have in common is that they want to dedicate some time to helping others. Our volunteers tell us how rewarding they find their volunteering experience and the reasons they volunteer include having a desire to help others, to give back to the NHS after a personal experience, to fill their spare time or to get experience for a future career.
We offer a variety of volunteer roles. All are non-clinical and complement the work of our paid staff. The roles include Gardening, helping to collect feedback from our service users on the wards, Reading Aloud to patients on our Acute Wards, supporting our activity co-ordinators on both the Acute Wards, and also within our care homes for older adults living with Dementia.
We would welcome volunteers with lots of different skills including Arts and crafts, baking, singing, dancing.
Please note our roles require that you are aged 18 or over.
