COUNTYWIDE VIRAL HEPATITIS CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST
BAND 7
PART TIME 25.5 HRS PER WEEK
12 MONTHS FIXED TERM (MATERNITY LEAVE COVER)
We are seeking a highly committed clinical nurse specialist in viral hepatitis to join the infectious diseases service in Worcestershire to cover maternity leave
You will be joining well established ID service with 2 ID consultants, a hepatologist, ID registrar, ID pharmacist, HIV CNSs, Community Hepatitis CNS and health care assistants.
We have cross county clinics within the Acute Trust on 3 sites and support educational work at the University of Worcester, where there is a flourishing nursing programme and foster close links with the community drug services and GPs. There is also a local fibroscan service which you would be involved in.
This post comes at a particularly exciting time in the field of hepatitis. We are closely linked via a regional network to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.

The successful candidate will be undertaking nurse led clinics at all 3 sites as well as participating in consultant led clinics.
Initiate, implement and manage nurse led clinics within the Acute Trust setting.
Deliver highly specialised care to patients receiving treatment for viral hepatitis.
Working in partnership with Clinical Governance, develop protocols and guidelines.
Maintain hepatitis database.
Initiate audit/research.
Formulate education programmes for teaching purposes.
