This is a fantastic opportunity to join The Countess Charity utilising your skills and experience to further develop a strong and effective fundraising programme.

The Countess Charity is seeking an experienced Trust & Legacy Fundraiser to join the small dynamic team of fundraisers and volunteers.

The post holder will be part of the Fundraising Team responsible for generating income for The Countess Charity. The primary focus of the role is to develop the potential of Trust fundraising as a sustainable annual income stream for the charity.

In conjunction with the Fundraising Manager the post holder will also take responsibility to develop, implement and manage incoming Legacies and a legacy marketing strategy.

Main duties of the job

  • To ensure that Trust Fundraising plays a full and integrated part of the overall fundraising strategy.
  • Use excellent analytical skills to research and identify existing and prospective sources of funding from Trusts, Foundations and other Grant Making organisations.
  • To develop, prepare and submit appropriate, creative, and tailored funding bids.
  • To maximise income from Trusts to meet annual income targets.
  • To take a leading role in developing excellent relationships with Trust Administrator contacts and provide regular feedback on funded projects.
  • Take initiative to keep up to date with best practice/policies relating to Trust and Legacy fundraising.
  • Working with the Fundraising Manager to identify suitable projects requiring charitable funding.
  • To assist in the development and delivery of a Legacy marketing campaign.
  • Project manage an annual “Make a Will Week”, and other supporter events aimed at legacy givers.
  • To ensure that the value of legacy bequests is promoted by working with families and solicitors.
  • Record all communication relating to bids, donations, and legacy pledges on the fundraising database.
  • To contribute to the overall strategy and continuing development of the fundraising team.
  • To promote the Trust values into the culture of the Trust and personally demonstrate adherence to them.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £23 (standard) or £43 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first three months of employment.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £13 per year applies.

New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.
