Job overview

An exciting and excellent training opportunity has arisen at Worcestershire Acute NHS Trust, which comprises of 7 hospital sites throughout the county.

A trainee reporting radiographer post has been developed to support the current reporting team. We have a team of 11 reporting radiographers, led by a Consultant Radiographer.

The team currently manage over 75 % of the plain film reporting which includes running a daily hot reporting service to the 2 Emergency Departments and 4 Minor Injury Units.

Our Consultant Radiographer is an international lecturer in plain film reporting and regular visiting lecturer at several universities. Reporting radiographers in the trust are supported with on-going training and expanding scope of practice, as part of this we expect reporters to work towards qualification in reporting all body parts.

Main duties of the job

We are a forward-looking department committed to training and role development with a 4 tier system. We want to develop advanced practice within the department and would therefore expect the post holder to participate in teaching and audit.

The post holder will be expected to complete Post Graduate training and qualification in Radiographic reporting.

A base site will be discussed at interview but the successful candidate will be expected to support the countywide service as required.

We are working towards 7-day reporting and home reporting and there will be a flexible approach to meeting the reporting requirements over a 7-day period.

The successful candidate will be required to support other clinical services within radiology (both during training and once qualified according to knowledge and skills) and partake in out of hours duties.

Applicants should be enthusiastic and motivated with a passion for plain film reporting and a desire to develop.

Applicants must hold the BSc in Radiography or the DCR(R) and be HCPC Registered.

Applicant must have a minimum of three years plain film clinical experience.
