We are recruiting for a Trainee Clinical Coding Clerk who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patient
You will abstract, analyse, translate clinical terminology as documented by healthcare practitioners into a clinical coded format using the International Classification of Diseases Tenth Revision [ICD-10] and Office of Population Census and Surveys Fourth Revision [OPCS 4] in accordance with the National Clinical Coding Standards and conventions.
You will also ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of clinical coding which is used in patient activity data analysis, resource planning and income streams within the Trust.

Ensure your coding skills are developed to ensure high quality clinically coded records are produced at all times by engagement and completion of the clinical coding training programme. Attendance and completion of the National Clinical Coding Standards Course [NCCSC] is a mandatory requirement of the post holder.
Demonstrate significant and/or improving knowledge of anatomy and physiology as part of ongoing training and development.
Demonstrate improving competency and compliance with clinical coding standards through a series of audits and checks.
To take responsibility for own professional learning and development and work towards attainment of the Accredited Clinical Coder [ACC] status by passing the National Clinical Coding Qualification [NCCQ] within 3 years of commencement of the trainee post.
