We seek a motivated and enthusiastic nurse who is keen to take on challenges in maternity care and is committed to providing exceptional care to women and their families in both theatre and recovery settings. This role will offer you a diverse range of experiences, ensuring both job satisfaction and a significant impact on patient outcomes.

As a vital member of the delivery suite team, you will be directly involved in the care of mothers and babies, supported by our midwifery team. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the daily stock of equipment and consumables and coordinating with sterile supplies to maintain the upkeep of instruments.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide care to women in the operating theatre and maternity recovery area
  • Be able to assess care needs and develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care
  • Prepares and assembles theatre equipment and instruments
  • Responsible for maintaining asepsis intraoperatively
  • Ensures safety of the theatre and recovery environment including stock levels and storage of equipment
  • Provides support to students/learners within the unit
  • Works collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team members in maintaining policies and standards of patient care related to perioperative and postoperative management
  • To have an understanding of recognition of the deteriorating patient and escalate in a timely manner to appropriate clinician
