An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Band 7 Physiotherapist within the Medical Physiotherapy team based at The Alexandra Hospital, Redditch. The post is for 31 hrs per week and is available from April 2025 on a peramnent basis.
The post will involve working across the acute medical wards. The main clinical role will be across the Emergency Department and the Acute Medical Unit on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. You will have previous experience of working within in-patient medicine specialties, demonstrate a good broad base of respiratory and complex discharge assessments experience and have the ability to manage a team of staff and students.
You will also be responsible for providing expert physiotherapy support to the Cardiac Rehab Classes at the Alexandra Hospital on a Monday and Wednesday and work closely with the Physiotherapy team based on the Coronary Care Unit.
You will work closely with the other Band 7s within the medical and surgery teams to provide a supportive environment to junior staff.
The post also includes a commitment to the on-call service and requires weekend working as part of the on call rota. You will also be required to be able to travel between sites.

Working as an experienced, autonomous practitioner, to provide a high standard of patient focused care through advanced assessment, accurate diagnosis, development and delivery of individual treatment programmes for patients within given speciality.
To take responsibility of own caseload in area of speciality.
To assist in the planning, co-ordination, delivery and evaluation of the physiotherapy service provided at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.
To provide supervision, support and education for qualified and unqualified physiotherapy staff, and to other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
To participate in departmental audit and research in support of evidence based practice.
To advise physiotherapists on the physiotherapy treatment and management of patients.
To communicate with the MDT as appropriate to provide comprehensive assessment to determine admission prevention as appropriate to given speciality.
To work alongside the other clinical leads within the speciality to ensure therapy services are delivered and evaluated effectively.
