This vacancy will provide an exciting opportunity for an experienced Administrator to work with clinical staff and team leaders in the Tayside Specialist Perinatal & Infant Mental Health Service. The service comprises of the Perinatal Mental Health Team (PNMHT), Maternity & Neonatal Psychology Service (MNP) and the Infant Mental Health Team (IMHT). The post holder will be responsible for administrative duties in the PMHT and is also required to work closely with, and provide cross cover for MNP/IMHT administrator, and vice-versa. The post-holder will be based at DHSCP Claverhouse Social Work Offices, Dundee.

The vision for the service: Women and birthing persons and their partners, infants and families receive the support they need in their own communities to ensure they experience optimal health and wellbeing, including mental wellbeing, during the perinatal period, so that their children get the best possible start in their lives.

The Tayside Perinatal Mental Health Service works with women and birthing persons who are experiencing/or deemed to be at higher risk of experiencing severe mental illness or who are experiencing complex mental health difficulties, in pregnancy and in the postnatal period, up until their baby’s 1st birthday.

The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide admin support to the Team Leader, Lead Psychologists, clinical staff and stakeholders to deliver the service objectives to include:-

  • To implement the integrated hub and spoke perinatal mental health team model that enables women and birthing persons, their partners and families to be supported in their own communities; ensure a confident and competent workforce and makes the most effective use of resources across all sectors.
  • To work in partnership with the agreed model for the Maternity and Neonatal Psychology Service and Infant Mental Health Team.
  • Building effective and close working relationships with other services involved in the provision of women and birthing person’s care e.g. CMHTs, third sector agencies, maternity services etc.
  • Supporting specialist workforce Perinatal and Infant MH training as required.
  • Ensure that the voices of those with lived experience and their families are central to service design development, evaluation and delivery.
  • Ensure that all available opportunities for feedback and data are captured and used as a basis for shared learning and service development and improvement.
  • Ensure that service provision and standards of perinatal care meet national recommended guidelines.

We are looking for an experienced and adaptable individual to join our friendly supportive team, who possess excellent organisational and communication skills and has experience of working as part of a team in a demanding administrative and secretarial role.  Previous experience or knowledge of patient referral and appointment systems is desirable and, use of Microsoft package including Excel and previous experience of or willingness to learn to manage databases is essential.
