This is an exciting opportunity to work for the Assessment Suite/ Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) at the Royal Victoria Infirmary.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a mature disposition to join our very busy team. You will be required to provide supervisory and administrative support within Assessment Suite/SDEC. Excellent inter-personal and organisational skills with previous experience in a supervisory capacity is essential.
You will be the first point of contact for patients, staff and visitors.
Knowledge of e-Record in particular Schappt Book and Cap Management are essential to this role.
(This may also include some weekends and bank holidays to meet the needs of the service) flexibility is very important to these hours.
Duties to include senior support, supervising and training of admin staff, annual appraisals, staff performance and sickness recording, as well as frontline registration of patients via the unit’s electronic systems. The role will also include admissions/transfers/discharges of patients via hospital systems, scanning, photocopying, telephone enquiries, making clinic appointments, processing of daily documentation, as well as face to face enquires from the general public, patients, visitors and staff. This is a very busy department and the individual must be able to multi-task to meet the needs of the service.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and processing skills. You will be required to work within a large multi-disciplinary team and be capable of undertaking a demanding workload. You should be familiar and confident with Microsoft office packages, and experience of working within the NHS Emergency setting would be advantageous.
Please note it is a requirement of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate. The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first month’s pay.
