Job overview

This role is for a band 5 staff nurse to come and join our dynamic JAG accredited endoscopy team.  No two days are the same, you will be playing a pivotal role in delivering high quality care to all our patients in endoscopy.  You will work closely with all members of the multidisciplinary team, therefore require excellent communication skills .  You will act as the patients' advocate, communicating and liaising  with relatives and carers to  ensure that their individual needs are met.

You will provide , supervision and support for junior members of staff, acting in a professional manner at all times.  You will also be required to teach students in practice, acting as a supervisor/assessor.

You will be supported to achieve/maintain core competencies for endoscopy whilst training in the procedure rooms in line with JAG accreditation standards.  You will be part of a very supportive, progressive team who will help you to achieve your full potential and flourish in your career.

we operate a 7 day service which includes weekend and bank holiday working.

You will be assessing, planning and delivering care to our patients from arrival to discharge.  You may be required to act as the nurse in charge/shift co-ordinator to ensure the safe delivery of care to our patients.  This role requires moderate computer skills/confidence as a lot of our systems are now progressing on to a digital platform.    As our systems evolve you will prioritise and implement changes effectively in response to clinical and organisational demands.

You will be required to demonstrate up to date clinical knowledge and proactively seek out opportunities develop your knowledge and skills on a continuous basis.

This is an exciting time to join endoscopy as we expand our service on two of our sites.  We have just opened a second room on our Louth site and have a brand new 5 room unit under development at Lincoln.   We offer a great working environment where we are all driven to deliver excellent patient care.  Our teams are motivated to progress and are supported to do so.  We have a structured career development pathway and work closely with upper and lower clinical nurse specialists and the bowel screening teams.    We consistently receive high praise from our patients in our monthly patient feedback reports which motivates us all to carry on the good work!
