An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 nurse to join our Border Stroke and Margaret Kerr Unit. 23 hrs available Applications are invited from Adult RGN with experience in, or have an interest in either of these areas.
The stroke unit has 14 beds, receiving direct admissions and repatriation from medical wards for ongoing rehabilitation. We have very recently linked with NHS Lothian in providing a 5 day/week thrombectomy service and we will be receiving patients directly post procedure for ongoing care. We have an experienced multidisciplinary team, and we work together to provide person centred care for our patients during their journey. This is a busy environment with a varied and unpredictable workload so being able to adapt quickly to an ever-changing environment is vital. .
The Margaret Kerr unit is an 8 bedded palliative ward, providing care and support for patients and families, with complex needs, symptom management and end of life care. The team work closely together supporting each other in what can be a very difficult but satisfying environment.
Opportunities are available for training, and you will be part of a welcoming team. Shift work includes nights, days, and weekends.

Please note: the salary quoted is for full-time hours (37.5 hrs per week). For appointments to part-time hours, the salary will be pro-rata.
