The team works across North & Mid Devon and is option to choose from bases available in the attractive market town of Barnstaple, or Bideford in North Devon and the Mid Devon locality both areas are full of history and heritage , along with hybrid working opportunities within. The post holder can be based at either of these locations agreed with supervising consultant. It will be possible for the successful applicant to have their base as the nearest Devon Partnership Trust base to their home.

The post would be suited, but not exclusively, to a committed candidate wishing to pursue an application for Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR). Candidates who choose this route are well supported within the Trust.

Main duties of the job

The post holders responsibilities will be to provide psychiatric services to adults with Intellectual Disability under the care of the North and Mid Devon Specialist community health team for Intellectual Disability. Regular supervision will be provided by Dr Reena Haq, Consultant Psychiatrist in Intellectual Disability (1.0WTE), who also works across both teams. The post holder will have a commitment to collaborative working and actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals and agencies as well as have good relationships with mental health services.

This post is currently vacant due to the previous substantive post holder commencing higher training. The post is substantive and there is no on call responsibility.
