Do you want to gain more experience in Intensive Care Medicine in a busy, dynamic district general hospital with an excellent reputation and outstanding results? Warrington Hospital is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Trust Grade Speciality Doctor in Critical Care to their department.

The successful candidate will join a busy and dynamic department with the opportunity to practise critical care medicine in a friendly atmosphere. This is a full-time role with the opportunity to develop your clinical and leadership skills, as well as time for further professional development.

Job plans will be negotiated with the clinical lead. The schedule will be 10Pas per week incorporating day and night shifts on call for critical care. This post will sit on the full shift Critical Care middle grade rota and have prospective cover for annual leave.

The successful candidate will work a full shift system, providing support to critical care. The role provides individuals with the opportunity to develop and implement your expertise in encouraging yet challenging environment.

Thorough clinical experience and knowledge of intensive care medicine.  •    Working autonomously. •    At least 2 years previous ICU experience. Qualification and Professional Training •    GMC Registration with license to practise. •    MBBS/MBChB or equivalent Skills and Abilities •    Experience in participation in regular clinical audit •    Understanding of the current issues in the NHS •    Experience in training undergraduate medical students and postgraduate doctors.  Personal Qualities •    Well organised and skilled in time management •    Capable of self-directed learning and investigation. •    Effective interpersonal skills. •    Demonstrate ability to and work within a team.

Education and Training The appointee is expected to take responsibility for his/her own continuing professional development, as outlined in Good Medical Practice. They will be encouraged and supported to consolidate and develop their existing medical knowledge, as well as their technical, non-technical skills and professional capabilities. Opportunities are available in areas such as clinical education, simulation, audit and quality improvement.. Ongoing training will be supervised by the Faculty Tutor for ICM (currently Dr T Furniss), and will be subject to regular assessment and appraisal. We have a strong history in successfully supporting doctors through higher professional exams and the interview process for substantive training posts
