We have the new and exciting opportunity for a band 6 Speech and Language Therapist  to join our Speech and Language Therapist Education Service.

The role will involve supporting children and young people within specialist educational settings in the boroughs of Westminster, and Kensington and Chelsea.

Main duties of the job

Providing specialist assessment, diagnosis and intervention to children and young people with complex communication needs and dysphagia (eating, drinking and swallowing disorders) needs as relevant to the role. This will include supporting parents, school staff and other professionals in all issues related to client management. Liaison with the MDT is an integral part of the role Providing advice to others regarding the management and care of children with communication difficulties Being accountable for own professional actions and recognising own professional boundaries, seeking advice from senior colleagues as appropriate Providing some day-to-day supervision and peer review support to less experienced colleagues and students, including second opinions when necessary. Running appropriate in service training independently for school and other staff
