Job summary

Do you have motivation, vision, and foresight to join our Maternity Governance team, and assist with leading the Patient Safety Agenda?

We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated midwife who is passionate about patient safety. The role will support the Quality, Risk & Governance Lead Midwife and the governance team along with the senior leadership team to manage and coordinate all aspects of clinical risk and governance.

The maternity governance and risk team works collaboratively within the risk management framework of the Trust to develop, establish, and maintain risk management systems. Collectively they lead and are responsible for developing robust systems which recognise, report, analyse, evaluate, and minimise the risks to staff, patients, visitors, and the organisation.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support and work with the team to develop, implement, monitor, review and embed strategies and frameworks to underpin the principles of clinical governance in Midwifery Services; this will include effectively managing clinical risks. The post holder, with support and oversight from the senior leadership team will work with the MDT and lead on the enaction of Saving Babies Lives workstreams and compliance with Maternity Incentive Scheme, ensuring the timely completion of safety actions and collation of supportive evidence.
