MPFT are delighted to invite a HCPC registered Dietitian to apply for this new Band 6 Mental Health Dietitian role to support the delivery of nutritional care within the inpatient mental health service at the Redwoods Centre.  This role covers working age adults and older adults wards. This role provides an exciting opportunity for service improvement and is suitable for either an established Band 5 wishing to progress in their career, or a Band 6 looking for new upskilling opportunities in mental health dietetics.

A Band 5 to Band 6 progression post will be considered for this role.

You will be primarily based at The Redwoods Centre, Shrewsbury  with the opportunity for blended working including working from home.

Come and join the Redwoods Inpatient Dietetic team at Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust (MPFT), a Trust that values people, empowerment and partnerships. As Allied Health Professionals (AHP’s), we focus on maintaining people’s essential life skills, making life better for our communities and using a preventative & recovery focused approach. The Redwoods Dietetic Team focuses on the areas of Enteral Feeding, Nutrition Support, Refeeding Management, Disordered Eating, Diabetes & Weight Management in Mental Health inpatient wards.

We are offering a great opportunity for a role with a focus on the development of dietetic skills in mental health.  We offer the post holder an opportunity to work closely with the inpatient multi-disciplinary teams supporting the physical health agenda for people with a mental health diagnosis, such as dementia, severe mental illness, depression and anxiety, providing expert advice to MDT colleagues on dietetic needs such as refeeding syndrome. The role will also have the opportunity to build leadership skills by providing support and supervision for allied health assistants and dietetic assistant practitioners as required.
