Are you interested in trying your hand out in mental health dietetics helping patients with nutritional support needs? This secondment has arisen as an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic HCPC Registered Dietitian with good communication and team-working skills as a fixed term for maternity leave cover.
The main focus of the post is working with older people, and ideally you will have some experience in mental health settings, but it is not compulsory, as support and training can be provided by our Dietitians Network in the Trust.
This is a great opportunity for you to further your career by joining our supportive team and continuing to develop a relatively new role within the Trust. The post provides an interesting variety of inpatient and community work, and is located in Kirklees (Huddersfield/Dewsbury), in West Yorkshire.

You will provide Dietetic assessments for older people living in a care home in the Kirklees area under the Care Home Liaison Team.
Provide a Dietetic service to people with mental health problems in a community rehabilitation unit as well as potential cover when required for other inpatient mental health wards.
Be fully involved in and supported by the MDT (which comprises medics, nursing, catering and fellow AHPs). For example attending professionals meetings/ward rounds when appropriate to enable the provision of the best holistic care for the service user. There is a strong MDT approach in both inpatient and community settings.
Contribute to our student training programme as a student placement supervisor. Our service offers training for A, B and C placements, which receive excellent feedback.
There are well-established Dietetic clinical supervision groups that can support you, and you will benefit from the professional leadership of the Dietetic Network across the Trust, with an emphasis on evidence-based and innovative practice.
The post is fully agile so a laptop & mobile phone will be provided for work use.
