As a key member of our dedicated team, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact on patient care. This service is provided across several sites, including  Royal Preston Hospital & Chorley Hospital. We're offering a 12 month fixed term , Full-Time contract for 37.5 hours per week, providing you with stability and the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in your role. Your expertise will shine as you bring your post-qualification skills in either Sedation, Radiography, or Orthodontic nursing to the forefront.

Main duties of the job

Our team features 5 Consultants in OMFS, a Consultant in Restorative dentistry, and 2 Consultants in Orthodontics, along with a skilled Dental Therapist. We proudly accept referrals from across Lancashire and South Cumbria, providing comprehensive oral care services.

Collaboration is at the heart of our approach. We work closely with other dental specialties, such as Special Care and Paediatric Dentistry, ensuring a holistic and patient-centred focus. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting and chaperoning Dental Surgeons, addressing the needs of patients with diverse challenges, including medical issues, mental health concerns, and anxiety.

Your responsibilities extend to conducting nurse-led pre-operative assessments for both adult and paediatric patients. Additionally, you will contribute to patient education on oral health promotion, empowering individuals to take charge of their well-being.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of care, through appropriate professional practice, delegation and supervision of duties carried out by junior staff.
  • Proactively manage risk and maintain patient safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Assist in setting, monitoring and maintaining standards of care to improve the patient experience and outcome of care.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of all care activities, in a timely manner, adhering to local and professional standards for documentation.
