An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 6 Sister within the Neonatal Service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. These are for Permanent and Fixed Term posts.

We are looking for dynamic and highly motivated individuals who can demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills, provide support and education for junior staff and are passionate about improving patient safety and the patient experience. You will work cross city providing leadership and management of the teams on a shift and work closely with the Senior Sisters, Lead Nurses and Matron in developing the service and enhancing the quality of care delivery. Main duties of the job

The jobholder will play an essential role assisting the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse with the 24-hour continuing responsibility for the effective and efficient management of the ward / department. They will contribute to the provision of professional, clinical, managerial leadership and supervision for the nursing team. The jobholder is responsible for helping to develop and maintain a ward or departments philosophy that has the patient at the centre of compassionate safe and quality care delivery.

Job responsibilities

The Leeds Neonatal Service delivers care to over 1400 babies per year. We have 14 intensive care, 16 high dependency, 10 newborn born surgical and 16 special care cots cross city. We also have a 13 bedded Transitional care unit on the St James Hospital Site and 6 Transitional care cots integrated into the post natal Ward on the Leeds General Infirmary Site.
