We are looking for a proactive, self-motivated and experienced nurse to work as part of the Renal Dialysis team.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic and skilled individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to work as clinical Shift leader, and to provide visible nursing leadership and an effective and high quality patient focused service.

It is essential that you have a good understanding of the challenges and the skills required to support patients, families, careers and staff within renal dialysis environment. You must also demonstrate excellent organizational skills, an understanding of change management processes, and the ability to inspire, lead and develop a team. You must also demonstrate excellent clinical leadership skills, a strong team management approach and be open to developing and progressing new ideas and innovative ways of working.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the assessment of care need and the development, implementation and evaluation of patient care, establishing evidence-based practice.

Delivers enhanced nursing skills within renal care pathway

Reporting to the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, assists in leading and managing the clinical team, delegates work to junior staff and participates in the management of the department and the development of care systems as directed by the Line Manager

Assists with the total management of a team and leads the care for patients with chronic and acute renal failure.

No direct budgetary control but the post holder will be expected to assist with the effective use of resources in the clinical area.

The post is an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team, involving specialised nursing skills and leadership competencies and which contributes to the effective and economical use of available resources.

The applicant will be required to supervise qualified and unqualified staff on a day to day basis as directed by the Line Manager.

You must be enthusiastic and passionate about delivering high standards of patient centered care and be a professional role model.  You will be responsible for the immediate management of patients and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team ensure that patients receive optimum and high level nursing care.
