Main duties of the job

Clinical & Managerial Support: You’ll work closely with the Team Leader, providing essential clinical and managerial support to ensure smooth and effective theatre operations.

Leadership & Teaching: As a senior practitioner, you will lead by example, offering clinical leadership, guidance, and teaching to all relevant staff within your specialist area.

Specialist Advice: You’ll provide expert technical and clinical advice to colleagues within the peri-operative environment, helping to enhance the quality of care provided.

Patient Support: You’ll play a crucial role in supporting and informing patients undergoing anaesthesia and surgery, ensuring their experience is as comfortable and safe as possible.

Quality Care Development: You will assist in the development of safe, high-quality specialist care, adhering to the Trust’s Nursing & Midwifery guidelines, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our services.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To provide clinical & managerial support to the Team Leader.
  • To provide clinical leadership, support & teaching to all relevant personnel within the specialist area.
  • To provide specialist technical & clinical advise to relevant colleagues in the peri-operative setting.
  • To provide information & support to patients having anaesthesia / surgery.
  • To provide & assist with the development of safe & high quality specialist patient care & to work within the guidelines of the Trust Nursing & Midwifery Strategy.
