This post is in the admin support hub for the Neurodiversity Pathway for children and young people across Herts who would benefit from a pre-assessment for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and/or an autism assessment. This senior role will have responsibility for ensuring full admin support is offered to the admin and clinical teams across partner organisations.

The post holder will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and other agencies who provide assessment and support related to ADHD and/or autism in a variety of community settings.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide a comprehensive, confidential and high quality service, undertaking a wide range of tasks, using organised admin systems, demonstrating initiative and motivation.
  • Work in a managed rather than a supervised way, taking responsibility for various tasks, providing cross cover for other services should the need arise.
  • Be responsible for a smooth and effective service by efficiently implementing/developing office systems and processes.
  • Manage and prioritise incoming/outgoing correspondence via a variety of media and action as necessary, demonstrating a high level of professionalism, discretion/confidentiality, seeking advice and escalating issues when required.
  • Plan staff rotas and cover; co-ordination of meetings; arrangements for delegates/presenter; booking of venues; manage diaries as required.
  • Participate in team meetings, including typing and distributing minutes and prepare presentations as required.
  • Be the main point of contact for a wide range of staff, external stakeholders/organisations, receiving and providing complex/sensitive information, ensuring that a professional image of the Trust is maintained at all times.
  • Engage with staff at all levels of seniority and demonstrate effective influencing and persuading behaviours to ensure that deadlines are met and that the flow of work is prioritised in order that targets/objectives can be delivered.
  • Line manage/train/develop less experienced/temporary staff.
  • Train/develop new starters.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

This is a fixed term post based in Welwyn Garden City.  There might also be an opportunity for a proportion of your time to be home working (to be discussed and agreed with your line manager based on service needs following Trust guidance).

In addition to the basic salary, this post will attract a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum and a maximum payment per annum, pro rata where applicable.

For this role you will need to have a full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
