A fantastic band 6 Occupational Therapy rotation opportunity has arisen at Wexham Park Hospital (WPH) which will enable you to develop and integrate your OT skills and knowledge in community and acute settings.  This Rotational Band 6 Occupational Therapy post aims to provide employment opportunities to enhance understanding and collaborative working.

This post would be suitable for current Band 6s looking for a change in role, experienced Band 5s interested in career progression or OTs who are interested in returning to practice.

Rotations providing you with diverse experiences will be in the following areas, spanning 12 months each:

  • Wexham Park & Heatherwood – Acute assessment (A&E), Stroke, Orthopaedics, Acute, Medical & Elderly Care, Surgery, Hand Injuries, Palliative care
  • Possibility of rotation to Frimley Park Hospital (*May depend on experience and service structure)

Main duties of the job

To provide excellent, high-quality person-centered clinical care that advocates for patients; strive to provide a service fit for today and the future; develop personal leadership to support clinical growth. Every rotation (12 months) brings duties specific for that specialty and team.

The post holder assumes responsibility for the day-to-day management of the clinical area, in the absence of the team leader.

The post holder is supervised by a named therapist, who may not be present at all times. Clinical and professional supervision is in the form of regular clinical reasoning sessions, observed practice, peer review and formal training.

The post holder will link with the Band 7 clinical specialist and/or Team Lead therapist to support the use of resources within budget. The level of managerial responsibility involves the supervision and appraisal of junior therapists, support workers and undergraduates, with the support of the Band 7.
