**This position is open to staff working at the Trust in the ‘ECT Family’ this includes current East Cheshire NHS Trust employees, both NHSP and ECT bank staff, ISS staff and volunteers at the Trust. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from applicants not listed within these groups.**

We are seeking to recruit a Senior Sister/ Senior Charge Nurse to lead and manage the SDEC service covering maternity leave.

You will be accountable for the management, leadership, and development of the service, ensuring that care delivery is of the highest quality, evidence-based, and person-centred.

The post holder will play a key role in fostering effective collaboration and partnership working with many stakeholders while providing a visible and accessible presence to support staff, patients, and their families. You will carry responsibility for care delivery under the remit of ambulatory care. You will also oversee the supervision, appraisal and training of staff. You will support the achievement of departmental and organisational objectives by ensuring continuity and improvement of service provision and maintaining professional standards. You will lead a culture that values and respects staff, fosters innovation, and promotes learning. Through strong leadership and collaboration, you will ensure the effective use of resources to maintain high standards of patient care.

Hours per week: 37.5

Main duties of the job

  • Effective and efficient utilisation of the allocated financial budget
  • Operational & personnel management
  • Contribute to business and service development planning annually as required.
  • Delegate and monitor components of the role to senior staff ensuring support is maintained.
  • To maintain a broad understanding of the work of the Urgent Care service Line and of the Trust a as whole, and actively contribute ideas for the improvement of service provision
  • To ensure own actions contribute to the maintenance of a quality service provision.
  • To lead and develop a culture and an environment in which staff are valued and respected.
  • To foster a culture of innovation that produces high standards of clinical service delivery.
  • To support a culture in which individuals feel able to report incidents and that learning takes place from all incidents and complaints.
  • Support and supervise all teams to ensure effective leadership, staff development and management of resources including budgetary responsibilities
