We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Respiratory Nurse Specialist to join the Leeds Community Respiratory Service. You will be joining a well-established multi-disciplinary team of specialist nurses, specialist physiotherapists, associate practitioners, and clinical support workers. We provide care and treatment predominantly for patients with COPD, at home and in clinics. The aim of the service is to improve the quality of life of patients living with COPD, empowering patients to manage their condition and working in partnership with them to make their own decisions. We collaborate closely with colleagues in local hospitals to facilitate hospital discharges and support admission avoidance as well as chronic disease management and pulmonary rehabilitation. In addition, we provide the Leeds Home Oxygen Service, providing assessment and monitoring for respiratory and non-respiratory patients needing oxygen at home.

You will be passionate about patient care, flexible in your approach, and committed to service development. Delivering care in patient homes, you will be comfortable making decisions and working independently with the support of the wider multi-disciplinary team. You will have experience of caring for patients with COPD, but full training and support will be provided. We encourage applicants to contact the service prior to applying for the role. You will primarily work Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm, however, we are a 7-day service, and once fully trained, you will be required to work approximately 1 in 14 weekends. Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that you can travel independently across the city and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. We will consider full or part-time hours with a minimum of 30 hours.
