Job overview
The post holder will have a lead role in the development and delivery of a variety of formal, informal and bespoke development opportunities for all AHP professional groups, including AHP support works and HCAs, newly registered ,Return to Practice and Internationally recruited AHPs. Collaborating with external stakeholders to ensure agreed system wide procedures are adhered to in order for clinical practice to remain contemporary and evidence based.

Key Responsibilities
- Proactively manages risk to vulnerable persons through the development of activities that support staff to deliver care that is evidence informed, safe and effective.
- Participates / facilitates meetings in response to the development needs of staff.
- Works collaboratively with clinical professional colleagues and agencies to ensure effective communication in order that needs of the workforce are identified.
- Manages risk and maintains service delivery through effective communication and liaison with Service Managers, locality Practice Facilitators and Professional colleagues.
- Engages constructively with clinicians and students to support, develop and enhance quality standards of clinical practice in the work environment.
- Provides clinical leadership and advice to clinical staff, patients and carers based on current evidence informed knowledge.
- Demonstrates the ability to make critical judgements in relation to clinical decision making, including the identification and support of individuals where practice concerns have been raised.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Maintains up to date clinical skills and knowledge for own profession and maintains awareness of professional issues across all AHP professions, supporting the AHP Professional Leads through the appraisal of research and evidence actively seeking out new sources.
- Demonstrate personal accountability in their everyday practice and an understanding of their responsibility for staff to which they delegate actions through education.
- Contributes to the improvement of patient care and patient safety by ensuring staff clinical competence is monitored and reported to necessary assurance groups, escalating issues as required.
- Line management as required of colleagues within the wider Clinical Education and Development Team.
The post holder will provide support access to appropriate development, to maintain a competent workforce, providing clinical leadership to the Clinical Services in supporting transfer of theory to practice. The post holder will be a registered AHP, ideally with a teaching qualification or experiential knowledge. As a registered professional the post holder is required to adhere to relevant Professional standards and guidelines of practice, education and conduct.
