Key Duties:
To carry out the full range of Portering duties.
To respond to tasks allocated the Endoscopy department in line with department procedures.
Transportation of patients between wards/departments.
To move items of furniture/equipment within the department
Visually and verbally risk-assess every patient prior to carrying out any clinical investigation.
Assist with maintaining daily records and statistics of clinical activity.
Occasional exposure to distressing circumstance e.g. vulnerable/aggressive patients and whilst carrying out mortuary duties
Receive and report verbal and written communication, including responding to a bleep, answering the telephone, taking messages and keeping records for the departmental database.
Respond promptly to job allocation from the Endoscopy department.
Perform minor maintenance and clean equipment to the departmental Infection control audit standard.
Undergo training when required to keep up to date with new equipment and technology.
Report any untoward events or uncertainties to a senior team member
Adhere to all Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and departmental policies and procedures.
Perform any other duties appropriate to the grade, as instructed by the Head of Department.
