This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Registered Nurse to join the Children and Young People’s (CYP) service at UCLH to deliver transformational patient care for young people with respiratory illnesses including asthma, tracheostomies and long term non-invasive ventilatory support. You will be joining a vibrant multidisciplinary team providing supportive care to ensure CYP and their families receive high quality clinical care from admission through to discharge and when they are at home in the community. Patient safety and a positive patient experience is at the heart of this role. Main duties of the job

A key focus of this role is delivering exceptional asthma care, including nurse lead asthma assessment and management clinics, supporting consultant-led clinics, and coordinating care with community teams and tertiary centres.

As the Respiratory CNS, you will lead the winter palivizumab vaccination service

You will also work collaboratively across hospital services, including neonatal, oncology, and general paediatric teams. You will play a vital role in supporting respiratory patients admitted to the ward, managing high-dependency care, tracheostomies, and long-term ventilation (LTV).

This position also involves providing expert training to nursing and medical teams across the division, ensuring the highest standards of care. Key clinical skills for this role include assessment and care planning, performing lung function tests and skin prick testing, teaching, and leading service management and improvement initiatives.

Our holistic approach includes personalised management plans, transition support to adult services, and collaboration with schools, community care, and leading hospitals like the Royal Brompton and Great Ormond Street Hospitals.
