Main duties of the job

We are excited to be recruiting for an Organisational Development (OD) Partner within the Organisational Development team at UHS. In this role, you will lead design and delivery across a broad range of OD programmes and interventions. Working closely with managers, clinicians and leaders within the organisation, partnering with them to make our Trust a great place to thrive, excel and belong. We are looking for a committed individual who can continue to deliver the meaningful work we have started, someone who can enhance and extend our support to staff experience, engagement, inclusion, leadership development and culture across the Trust.

With a flair for creativity and innovation, you will be confident in communicating, partnering and engaging staff at all levels of the organisation. Ultimately, we want to focus on empowering every manager to support the wellbeing and development of their staff.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

What you’ll do:

- Support the delivery of the UHS People Strategy and UHS Inclusion and Belonging Strategy.  - Lead the implementation of the OD consulting model at UHS. Embed the approach to consulting, contracting, and evaluation within all OD programmes across the Trust to ensure accountability at a senior operational level, and evidence of impact and improvement. - Work closely with Trust teams who contribute to organisational improvements and collaborate on trust-wide initiatives – including Always Improving (Transformation), Research and Development, Patient Safety, Strategy and Partnerships. Work alongside People Directorate teams: Communications and engagement, HR, Training, Workforce, and Psychology to deliver programmes, resources and interventions.   - Act as the OD Partner in relation to oversight of the consistency of OD partnership, practitioner and facilitator interaction with teams and services across the Trust, ensuring the OD approach is “wrapped around” services that require support. - Ensure that OD is an enabler to improvement, and is a role model for improvement, connecting people to ensure support is accessed outside of the OD scope. - Responsible for the implementation of systematic processes for UHS that identify, develop and retain talent within the organisation, and contribute to trust-wide policies or processes.

You will also line-manage the OD Practitioners and OD Facilitator, and support the leadership of the OD team Business Support function.

What we’re looking for

  • Expert knowledge of OD acquired by formal qualifications or equivalent experience or training - gained within large-scale organisations.
  • An understanding of current thinking on leadership and organisation development, combined with direct experience in the development, design and delivery of organisational-wide cultural transformation programmes.
  • Experience in influencing and advising leaders at different levels, together with managing teams and working with external providers.
  • Able to demonstrate behaviours that meet our Trust Values of Patients First, Always Improving, Working Together
