Job overview

Are you a problem solver, what we like to call “a fixer”? Are you able to multi-task?  Do you enjoy working in a busy environment?  We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Operations Support Advisor, based at our Banstead Make Ready Centre.  Remote working is available subject to successful completion of training

As part of the Planning and Business Development Directorate, the Operations Support Desk (OSD) Team delivers a 24 hour a day support function for our Operational Managers, Support Managers and staff, Ambulance Crews, Workshop Teams, Communications Technicians, Fleet Drivers and external contractors to sustain and maintain our frontline services.

Main duties of the job

As the first point of contact the  Operations Support Advisor will respond to emails and telephone calls, accurately interpret the information, record details on our bespoke databases while deciding on the most effective solution.

Advisors must be able to work well within a team or on their own initiative, make independent decisions, manage tasks and facilitate a successful outcome.  Advisors will often be required to adapt their plans and must have the ability to react quickly, think laterally and problem solve effectively.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

During a shift an Operations Support Advisor must expect and be prepared to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, working under time pressures in order to maintain maximum fleet provision and emergency crew availability.  Operations Support Advisors must also demonstrate the ability to confidently work alone.
