We are excited to launch our Mental Health Response Vehicle (MHRV) in line with our transformation for mental health services ambitions and looking for dynamic mental health practitioners and health care support workers to join this team as it launches!
The MHRV is a designated mental health ambulance- with a small NHS insignia on the windshield and rear, it has been especially modified / fitted to NHSEs Ambulance / Response Vehicles recommended specifications to ensure the provision of therapeutic, comfortable, and dignified environment as an alternative assessment space during response to individuals in a mental health crisis in the community The new service launching early 2024- providing on-the-seen urgent mental health triage and assessment for individuals across LLR in a mental health crisis.
The service will reduce unnecessary emergency department conveyance and police response to individuals who require urgent support from mental health services The shifts time for MHRV are 1200-000- these hours may be subject to review. The MHRV will be staffed by Band 6 Mental Health Practitioners and Band 2 Healthcare Support Workers working under supervision of the MHP.

The post holder will be a qualified Mental Health Nurse, Learning Disability Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker. The team is dynamic and fast moving and requires Practitioners to work autonomously.
You must have excellent clinical skills, be able to demonstrate an ability to complete comprehensive mental state examinations, thoroughly assess patient safety and risk, formulate safe and effective risk management plans and document this clearly. You should have experience of mental health nursing, including crisis care in a variety of settings including community; you will be able work autonomously with awareness of when to seek advice.
You will hold a sound working knowledge of common mental health disorders, the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act Please review the supporting information around the service and job role
