Job overview

Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust (RNOH) Children service is looking to recruit a talented, inspirational, collaborative senior children/mental health nurse, or senior allied health professional with specialism in Children and Young People care.

As well as advocating for mental health across our children services, the individual would help facilitate join up between RNOH practitioners, Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services, Liaison teams, learning disability and autism services, safeguarding and other key partners.

Main duties of the job

  • 1.     Build team confidence in supporting CYP and families with mental and emotional needs. 2.     Encourage staff uptake of mental health related training and disseminating of learning. 3.    Facilitate joint working across mental health and physical health, working with Children Hospital clinical leads and executive leadership to encourage 'parity of esteem’. 4.  Building supportive and collaborative relationships with internal multidisciplinary team and colleagues in local CYP mental health teams and local authority services, such as social services. 5.   Networking with others Mental Health Champions and similar roles across local, regional, and national systems to enhance dissemination of information from NHSE, Royal Colleges and professional bodies; sharing of good practice and feedback 'from the ground' to facilitate problem solving and further development nationally. 6.     Facilitate improvements in joint working across RNOH and wider ICB systems and providers of CYP mental health care. 7.     To contribute to the development, evaluation and monitoring of the team’s operational policies and services and participate in the development of high quality, responsive and accessible services.
