Main duties of the job

Under the general direction of the Hospital Engineer, Electrical,  the Technical Supervisor is responsible for the day to day management  for any combination of employed maintenance staff and contractors.

Ensuring that plant and equipment is serviced repaired and maintained throughout the Trust's properties, in accordance with statutory and Trust requirements.

Responsible for complying with all relevant legislation and such Policies,

Procedures and Methods of Working, including conduct, appearance and discipline as the Operational Estates Manager or the Trust may decide to implement.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

We are seeking an enthusiastic supervisor to join our Estates Management Team. The individual will take responsibility for supervising the Trust’s electrical maintenance team and contractors to maintain the hospital’s high and low voltage electrical installations.

This offers an excellent opportunity to progress your career within the NHS and to develop your skills, knowledge and experience across a wide range of areas. The hospital is about to commence a significant investment programme to decarbonise the estate by moving to photovoltaic and heat pump technologies, providing an excellent opportunity to gain experience in these emerging fields.

Efficiently and effectively manages resources, including labour, materials and transportation

(including supply, deployment and security

To participate fully in the operation of the Planned Preventative Maintenance Scheme and assist in its continued development by informing staff of any changes to the status of existing plant and equipment services

To provide an economical and efficient maintenance operation, together with adequate cover at all times

Be an AP (Authorised Person) for LV electrical

Be an AP for Medical Gases

Support the Hospital Engineer – Electrical to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of plant and equipment.
