**Internal Only**

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated theatre practitioner to join our theatre team within the Golden Jubilee University National Hospital as Interim Senior Charge Nurse/Senior Charge ODP to support maternity cover. The Golden Jubilee University National Hospital currently has 15 theatres and 1 Endoscopy room, increasing to 20 theatres and a purpose-built 5 room Endoscopy suite on completion of Phase 2 of the hospital expansion.

About the Role

As the SCN/SCODP, you will be responsible for the daily management of General/Thoracic theatres whilst ensuring patients receive a high standard of safe, effective and person centred care. This involves not only leading the team within theatres but developing close links with areas such as Critical Care, to enable a smooth patient flow resulting in excellent patient outcomes. You will be pivotal in the provision of the complex Lung Cancer surgery service which we provide using the pioneering DaVinci robot. You should be able to demonstrate a strong track record of leadership and managing a team, particularly through change. A commitment to quality, evidence-based care is essential, whilst having a ‘can-do’ attitude. You will be integral in the delivery of the strategic vision and plan for the hospital, particularly in relation to the expansion of the theatre department. As we continue with the major expansion of our services, this is your chance to become part of a progressive, dynamic and person centred team. As a Green (COVID light) hospital site, the NHS Golden Jubilee will support NHS Scotland to deliver a wide range of surgeries and elective programmes. To support this the hospital has accelerated its expansion plans, and there has never been a more exciting time to join our team.

Development

We have a dedicated Clinical Education Team within the theatre department, which also works closely with the Leadership Academy, to provide further training and personal and professional development opportunities. Each day is a busy one, but the fast paced environment and knowing you have made a real difference to a patient’s life makes this a very rewarding experience.
